Special Session to Convene November 4th
At the call of the Governor, the Nebraska Legislature will convene in special session beginning at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009. The purpose of the session will be to reduce the state budget for the current biennium by an amount of some $200 million. Speaker Flood has said that he expects the session to last two to three weeks, and that the body will convene on Saturdays as well as during the week. November 11th - Veterans Day - will, however, be a recess day.

Robert Krist Appointed to the Nebraska Legislature
Robert Krist, of Omaha, has been appointed to the Nebraska Legislature by Governor Dave Heineman. Senator Krist replaces former Senator Mike Friend, who has resigned to take a post in Nebraska State Government. Senator Krist will represent District #10 and will run for election to the Legislature in November, 2010.

Nebraska Legislature Will Convene January 6, 2010
The Second Session of the 101st Nebraska Legislature will convene January 6, 2010.
